First-time setup path

VPNAO Setup Guide

Start by creating a username, then choose a plan, get your subscription, import it into a client, and verify your exit location. Follow the page in order; you do not need to understand every route term first.

PREPARE

Pre-flight checks

Before you begin, confirm that the VPNAO website and user dashboard open normally on your device. Initial setup requires switching between a browser and a client, so keep the dashboard open for now instead of closing it immediately after copying the subscription. The client and subscription content are obtained from the dashboard; this guide does not provide a static installer URL or display a real subscription URL that can be used directly.

Prepare a username that is easy to recognize and remember over time, and set a unique password. VPNAO does not require an email address; your username and password are the credentials for accessing the user dashboard. Recovery works differently from a typical email-based registration flow, so save the credentials in a trusted password manager after setup rather than relying only on temporary browser memory.

If another network client is already running on the device, disconnect it before importing. When multiple clients manage the system network at the same time, one may show as connected while traffic is actually using a different configuration. For now, keep only one client running. There is no need to change DNS, the system proxy, or advanced routing rules in advance; review AI Access Guide or the Help Center after the basic connection works.

ACCOUNT

Create a username and password

Open the free trial page and enter a username and password in the account creation section. VPNAO does not require an email address. Before submitting, check that the username is easy to identify and that both password entries match. The username is for signing in and should not be confused with the subscription; the user dashboard provides the subscription separately after payment.

After submission, the page opens the user dashboard. First confirm that the current username appears at the top or in the account area, then continue to plan selection. If the page remains on the sign-in or account creation screen, check the prompts near the fields, correct the username format or mismatched passwords, and submit again. Avoid opening several account creation pages at once, which can lead to using different accounts in different tabs.

Once inside the dashboard, take a moment to identify the “Account Overview,” “Download Client,” and “Buy a Plan” sections. The account overview shows subscription status, the download area provides the client for your platform, and the plans area handles orders. You do not need the ticket or settings sections for first-time setup; keeping to the main path reduces mistakes.

Result: You can access the VPNAO user dashboard with your username and password and see the overview for your account. Once confirmed, continue to plan selection.

PLAN

Choose a plan and place your order

Open the Plans section in the user dashboard. VPNAO offers monthly subscriptions and data packages that remain available until used; the two product types are measured differently. Monthly subscriptions suit relatively consistent usage and provide a new allowance each month. Data packages never expire, making them better for occasional use or backup access. Check the data rules before the price, rather than judging a plan by its position on the page.

Monthly subscriptions include ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, and ¥28/month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on the activation date; if you upgrade during a billing period, the price difference is prorated over the remaining days. Data packages cost ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB; they last until used and never expire. All plans support unlimited device count, but simultaneous use across devices draws from the same available account data.

On the order confirmation page, check the plan name, data type, and amount, then pay with Alipay, WeChat Pay, or USDT. Do not submit the same order repeatedly while payment is processing, and avoid switching back and forth with the browser’s Back button. After payment, return to the user dashboard and wait for the order status to update. If payment is complete but the status has not changed, refresh the order section first. If it still does not update, submit the order details through the dashboard ticket entry; see the Help Center for the handling process.

VPNAO offers a 30-day no-questions-asked refund. The refund policy does not change the initial setup steps, but review the Refund Policy before ordering to confirm eligibility and the request process. Once the plan is active, return to the account overview to get the subscription assigned to your account rather than looking for route addresses on a marketing page.

Result: The order status in the user dashboard has updated, and the account overview shows an active plan or available data.

SUBSCRIPTION

Get your subscription from the user dashboard

Open the Account Overview and find the subscription details or import section. Once an active plan is in effect, the dashboard provides copyable subscription content based on your account status. Confirm that the displayed plan and data status are correct, then click Copy. Do not open the subscription in the browser address bar or paste it into a search field.

The subscription lets the client read the route list and receive future updates; it serves a different purpose from your sign-in password. Keep the subscription only on your own devices and in trusted clients. Do not post it to forums, chat groups, or public documents. If you suspect it has been exposed, check the dashboard for an available reset option or request help through a ticket.

If the guide needs to show what a link looks like, use an obviously fake value such as:

https://example.com/sub?token=YOUR_TOKEN

The address above cannot connect to VPNAO and contains no account information. In practice, copy the content generated by the user dashboard and do not edit its characters manually. Extra spaces, a missing leading character, or selecting only part of the content can cause a format error in the client. The safest approach is to use the dashboard’s Copy button, then switch directly to the client and import it.

Result: The subscription content has been copied in full. Next, choose the client for your platform and import it.

IMPORT

Import clients for each platform

First open the client download area in the user dashboard and choose your device platform. Client downloads are available only inside the dashboard; this page does not host a static installer URL. After installation, open the client, find the subscription management or configuration import section, paste the subscription content copied in the previous step, and add or update it. After a successful import, the client should show a route list organized by region.

Windows

On Windows, get the Windows client from the user dashboard and install it. When you open it for the first time, Windows may ask whether the client can modify network settings. Confirm that it is the client obtained from the VPNAO dashboard, then continue. In subscription management, choose import from a link, paste the subscription content, and save it. Return to the route page and run one update. Confirm that regions such as Japan, Singapore, the United States, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, or Switzerland appear normally.

After importing, do not enable other network tools at the same time. If the client offers a system proxy or connection switch, leave it in the default mode for the first test. Advanced rule modes are better adjusted after the connection is stable; during initial setup, avoid changing several network options while importing.

macOS

On macOS, get and install the appropriate client from the dashboard. When establishing the first connection, macOS will usually display a network configuration authorization prompt. Complete the system authorization, return to the client, open the subscription or configuration page, and paste the content copied from the account overview. Click Add, then run an update so the route information is fully written locally.

If a client status icon appears in the menu bar but the main window shows no routes, reopen the configuration page from the menu bar and confirm that the subscription was saved. Closing the main window on macOS does not necessarily quit the client, so check the menu bar status while troubleshooting instead of launching multiple instances.

Android

On Android, open the client download area through the user dashboard and get the appropriate client. After installation, open subscription management and choose import by link or clipboard. Paste the subscription content and confirm. The first connection prompts Android to authorize a network connection; after authorization, the client can manage the device’s network exit.

If the client cannot recognize the pasted content, return to the account overview and use Copy again. Do not manually remove symbols from the link. Some Android clients separate “Add Subscription” and “Update Subscription”: add it the first time, then update it later when routes change or the list is empty.

iOS

On iOS, first check the recommended client type and access instructions in the user dashboard. After installing the client, open its configuration or subscription page and choose import from a link. Paste the subscription content from the account overview. When connecting for the first time, iOS asks to add a network configuration; confirm it and complete authorization using the device unlock method.

After a successful import, return to the client home screen and choose a route. If the subscription is saved but the list is still empty, open the subscription details and run an update, then confirm that the client has network access. The iOS Settings page only displays connection status; choose routes and update subscriptions inside the client.

Result: The client now shows a route list and lets you choose a specific region. Setup is not complete yet; establish a connection and verify the actual exit location.

VERIFY

Connect and verify your exit location

In the client’s route list, choose a region that is relatively close to your current network location and matches your purpose, then click the connection switch. Do not cycle through several regions in succession. Wait until the client clearly shows “Connected” before testing in a browser. If the system displays another network configuration prompt, complete authorization and return to the client to confirm the status.

A successful connection is not confirmed by the client icon alone. Open this site’s My IP page and check whether the current exit location matches the selected route. If you chose a Japan route, the result should show the corresponding exit region. If it still shows your pre-connection network location, system traffic may not be passing through the current client. Disconnect other clients first, reconnect, and refresh the lookup page.

After confirming the exit location, open the website or tool you actually need. If a webpage opens but an app cannot connect, the issue may be the app’s proxy settings, an old connection cache, or routing rules rather than an invalid subscription. For initial setup, keep the client at its defaults, confirm that the basic path works, and then adjust app settings one at a time. For AI tools, command-line tools, IDE plugins, and persistent connections, continue with the AI Access Guide.

If a route is temporarily unsuitable for your network, disconnect, switch to another route in the same region, and verify the exit location again. VPNAO covers 100+ countries and 150+ routes; routes may differ in purpose and cross-border paths. Judge your choice by whether the target app can reliably sign in, load, and maintain transfers, rather than repeatedly chasing a single test result.

Result: The client shows Connected, the IP lookup matches the selected exit region, and the target website or app can establish a connection normally.

ROUTINE

Everyday use and updates

After the first verification, everyday use only requires opening the client, choosing a route, and connecting. The subscription is saved in the client, so you do not need to paste it again each time. If the plan is active in the dashboard but the client has not shown new routes for a long time, update it from subscription management; the update rereads the route configuration currently available to your account.

When changing devices, open the user dashboard on the new device, download the appropriate client, then copy the subscription from the account overview and import it. VPNAO supports Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux, with no device-count limit. Different devices can use the same account’s active subscription, but data is shared across the account, so check every configured device when investigating unusual usage.

Monthly subscription data resets each month on the activation date, while data packages last until used and never expire. Local statistics in the client may refresh at a different time from the account statistics in the dashboard; use the dashboard when checking remaining data. To upgrade a monthly subscription, use the Plans section in the dashboard; upgrade differences are prorated over the remaining days.

For payment status, subscription updates, client permissions, or route selection issues, first note your platform, the message shown in the client, and the steps already completed, then visit the Help Center. For account-specific support, use the ticket entry inside the user dashboard; do not send subscription content or account credentials on public pages.

Basic setup is complete

From here, choose a route for each use case and update the subscription in the client periodically. For deeper topics such as protocols, persistent connections, AI tools, and routing rules, continue with the structured guides.
